About this event

Violinist Sean Riley needed a 6-string (instead of 4) electric violin in order to perform The Dharma at Big Sur by American Composer John Adams, but he could not afford one so what did he do? He 3D printed one in collaboration with engineer Daniel Goodwin and sculptor Rebecca Milton at the University of Texas at Austin. Watch! https://youtu.be/CtiC0xo0HHE

Come experience the ingenuity of classical music united with 3D printing technology and visual art in an extraordinary venue: Utah Museum of Fine Art’s G.W. Anderson Family Great Hall. Sean Riley will perform commissions and arrangements for the 3D printed 6-string electric violin along with Bartók, Sarasate, and Medtner in collaboration with pianist Farshad Zadeh.

Concert admission includes Utah Museum of Fine Arts gallery access!

Guest artist residency made possible thanks to support from WESTAF and Utah Division of Arts & Museums OnStage in Utah grants.
