About this event
Description: This interactive lecture-demonstration introduces audiences to the depth, beauty, and improvisational richness of Hindustani classical music. Designed for listeners with little or no prior exposure, the program blends live performance, guided listening, and cultural insight to make a sophisticated art form immediately accessible.
Through voice, tabla and harmonium, the artists will guide audiences from first listening experience to deeper understanding, revealing how melody, rhythm, and emotion intertwine in real time.
This program will be interactive, immersive, and accessible, featuring:
• Call-and-response demonstrations
• Audience clapping of rhythmic cycles
• Guided listening and reflection
No prior knowledge of Indian music is required. Audiences will be engaged in a Q&A session to facilitate understanding and participation.
