The Italian American Veterans Museum will host Festival del Vino from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, at Casa Italia in Stone Park. A multifaceted celebration of Italian wine, the event is being held in cooperation with Binny’s Beverage Depot, Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Market and Onesti Entertainment.

 

The festival will offer the opportunity to sample a wide range of Italian wines and liqueurs, develop a greater appreciation for Italian wines, purchase state-of-the-art winemaking equipment and supplies, and learn the basics of winemaking. Italian tunes will fill the air and hearty Italian fare will be served at no additional cost.

 

Casa Italia is located on 17 wooded and landscaped acres on the grounds of the former Sacred Heart Seminary in Stone Park. Sheltered under the Festival Center pavilion, the event will take place rain or shine. Festival goers will enter the property on 37th Street, just south of Soffel and park for free. 

 

Attendees will be able to mark the wines they’d like to purchase on a check list, which will be sent to the Binny’s Beverage Depot nearest their homes for pickup and purchase.

 

Tickets to the event are $50 and $55 at the gate, and will include a sampling glass emblazoned with the Veterans Museum logo. Net proceeds will benefit the Italian American Veterans Museum.

 

All sales are final. Tickets can be transferred but not refunded. Unfulfilled tickets will be welcomed as donations.
