About this event
Dylan Foley & Matt Mancuso
An exceptional pairing of multi-instrumental talent.
Dylan Foley is one of the most accomplished fiddlers in Irish traditional music today and a four-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion. Hailed by master fiddler Brian Conway as “one of the finest fiddlers of his generation,” Foley is known for his technical brilliance, dynamic style, and deep respect for the tradition.A native of Highland, New York, he studied under Rose Flanagan and was mentored by regional legends Mike McHale and Fr. Charlie Coen. Foley has performed at premier venues including Lincoln Center and toured internationally, with appearances in Vietnam, Thailand, and beyond. He has recorded and toured with acclaimed groups such as The Yanks and collaborated with Dan Gurney and Josh Dukes. His versatility extends to screen work as well, with an appearance alongside Brendan Gleeson in the television series Mr. Mercedes. Now based in Tennessee, Dylan Foley continues to captivate audiences and presenters worldwide with his electrifying performances and deep musicality.
Matt Mancuso is a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays both fiddle and trumpet. His playing is spirited and exuberant, yet underpinned by deep technical mastery. As a young child, Matt was introduced to Irish Music by his father Pete, a respected guitarist. Matt studied with the renowned musician and teacher Maureen Glynn and with Tony De Marco Matt went on to compete in the prestigious All Ireland competitions. Matthew was placed highly 7 years in a row in solo and group competitions. As Matt grew his musical horizons broadened. He went on to add the love of Jazz to his firm grounding in traditional Irish music. It was not long before he brought the same mastery to the trumpet as he had to the fiddle. And he continues to add instruments to his list, most recently the tenor guitar and guitar and vocals. Matthew has toured the world with Lord of the dance on fiddle (2002-2005), Europe and U.S. with Grada (2005-2008) The Cathie Ryan band (2006- 2015) and with Eileen Ivers band on guitar & lead vocals (2016-2022) strong>Notable Collaborations:
Live performances: Foley and Mancuso have regularly played together at live events in New York and other locations. Most recently, they were scheduled to perform together with Isaac Alderson in St. Louis in April 2025.
The Palace Sessions (2017): This album, featuring Isaac Alderson and Dylan Foley, included Matt Mancuso on trumpet. Proceeds from the record were donated to disaster relief.
