About this event
TOSC Social Club: Winter Fountain Trail Ramble Ride
Sunday, December 15th, 12:00pm - 2:00pm
(This ride was rescheduled from November dates to December 15th due to snow)
Set out on bike to explore a few of the natural surface trail options from the parking lot of the Fountain Library. The riders will experience the beautiful Adams Open Space, the connection to John Metcalfe Memorial Park and up the Jimmy Camp Creek Trail to the newly rebuilt trail connecting Heritage Park to Hibbard Park. This corridor suffered flood damage last year during our torrential rains and the City of Fountain has been working diligently to restore and enhance the trails, several sections having been recently opened. The ride will be around 7 miles in the length.
Helmets are required for this ride. A bike with wider tires is best as all trail surfaces will be natural, and hard-packed dirt with the occasional soft spots. Also, in a couple of the areas we'll be walking our bike across minor obstacles, so appropriate footwear for off-bike walking is highly recommended. Wear sunscreen and appropriate layers for the weather that day.
In the case of active snow or muddy conditions post-storm, we will assess the conditions no later than 12:00pm on Saturday, December 14th and we'll communicate any changes at that time or just confirm that we're actually going to be able to go for a ride!
After the ride, Allen will be visiting Peaks N Pines Brewing just up the street for a post-ride social gathering. Please feel free to join him to learn more about what TOSC has going on for 2025!
Meeting Spot: Pikes Peak Library District-Fountain Parking Lot.
Address: 230 S Main St, Fountain, CO 80817
