Join Center for Spiritual Wisdom and interreligious teacher Francis Tiso for a day retreat on October 18 from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Tiso is a Catholic priest and inter spiritual teacher with a specialized focus on Tibetan Buddhism. Based in Rome, Italy, he will be in Brevard during one of his infrequent visits to North America. His 2016 book Rainbow Body and Resurrection examines the possibility that the Christian concept of resurrection and a Tibetan teaching regarding the "Rainbow Body" may be pointing to aspects of a similar phenomenon.

Witnesses to the passing of Tibetan masters describe extraordinary signs—rainbows, music, radiant light—that point to the mystery of the rainbow body. While skeptics may search for simple explanations, these shared experiences reveal something far deeper: the possibility that each moment holds a glimpse of divine love breaking into our world. In this daylong retreat, Fr. Francis Tiso will explore these profound accounts and what they might teach us about living more fully, openly, and faithfully into the great mystery of “what’s next.”

Explaining the retreat’s theme, Tiso said he believes What’s next? is a powerful mantra. “Years ago, when I met with a Karma Kagyu [Buddhist] teacher in Kathmandu, we both agreed that the aim of spiritual practice could be beautifully expressed as: 'to encounter each moment as a revelation of the love of God,” said Tiso. “He had no issue with the word ‘God’ and was especially fond of the word ‘revelation.’”

Join us Saturday, October 18 to participate in this rare opportunity to learn from Fr. Tiso in a day of teaching, reflection and meditation. A simple vegetarian lunch will be served. This event is recommended for all spiritually-minded individuals—whether rooted in Christianity, Buddhism, another tradition, or no tradition.

While there is no admission fee, a suggested donation of $30 or more will help cover the day's expenses.

The Mary C. Jenkins Community & Cultural Center is located near downtown Brevard at 221 Mills Avenue. Free parking is available opposite the community center.
