Dog Days of Summer (III)
About this event
Join us for a heart-warming, high-energy community event benefiting Healing4Heroes, where rescue dogs are trained to become life-changing service animals for Veterans, First Responders, and Children in need. This family-friendly dog show and costume contest will take place in the beautiful farm and arena setting of Willow Dell Equestrian Center, bringing together exciting dog games, inspiring demonstrations, educational speakers, great food, and meaningful opportunities to connect with fellow animal lovers and supporters of our heroes.
The theme for the event is "April Showers Brings Spring Flowers" and the event will feature fun dog show competitions open to all breeds and skill levels, with judging focused on connection, trust, and teamwork rather than breed standards. Competitions will include the Handler-Dog Relationship Competition, Costume Contest, Talent and Scent Work Challenges, Ultimate Recall Race, and Musical Chairs...Dog Edition. These activities are designed to celebrate the unique relationship between dogs and their humans while creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. Perfect for kids and adults alike to enter.
Throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to hear from educational guest speakers, including veterans, professional service dog trainers, and search-and-rescue experts. These speakers will share personal stories, training insights, and firsthand accounts of how service dogs transform lives, offering both inspiration and education for the entire community.
The festival will offer a relaxed, carnival-style atmosphere with burgers, hot dogs, kid-friendly activities, and a special Sponsor and Benefactor VIP hospitality area. Guests will also have opportunities to meet service dogs in training and learn more about the Healing4Heroes mission and programs.
Healing4Heroes rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to become service animals at no cost to Veterans, First Responders, and Children in need. Every ticket purchased, sponsorship secured, and donation made helps save two lives... the dog and the hero they serve. This mission creates lasting impact not only for individuals and families but for the entire community.
Ticket options include individual admission for $8 and a veteran/first-responder family of four for $20, attendees may also choose a Pay-It-Forward option to sponsor a Veteran’s family. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Whether you bring your dog to participate or simply come to support the mission, this event promises to be meaningful, memorable, and fun for all ages. Come help us change lives....one dog and one hero at a time.
