About this event

Join us at the historic Col Peter H. Peirce House as we gather around our 18th Century Holiday Table.

We will begin the afternoon with a presentation by foodways historian, Stacy Booth. As she explores the food and drink traditions of 18th century Massachusetts during the winter holiday season, you will discover how Puritan opposition to Christmas shaped colonial celebrations and how residents continued English traditions through seasonal gatherings and festivitie.. The presentation will explore traditional holiday foods that brought people together at the colonial table. Then, we will gather for a three-course meal featuring corn chowder, corn bread, pork loin, a variety of vegetables, and a traditional dessert.

Step back in time and experience life in the 18th century.  (Period specific atire is optional.)
