YUN JUNG DO ANNUAL 7-DAY INTENSIVE SEMINAR
About this event
Improve Your Kicking Skills – Part 2
Take Your Kicking Skills to the Next Level
Part 2 of the Improve Your Kicking Skills seminar takes the principles of kicking and moves them into application.
The first seminar focused on understanding the mechanics behind the four major kicks — front kick, round kick, side kick and back kick — including balance, structure, power generation and the kinetic chain.
Part 2 is about putting those skills to work.
You will learn how to use your kicks more effectively, how to create opportunities to kick, how to combine kicks with other techniques and how to develop better timing, distance and movement.
This is not about simply throwing more kicks.
It is about understanding when, why and how to use them.
What You Will Learn
The seminar will build on the key principles of kicking and explore:
-
Developing greater speed, power and accuracy
-
Improving balance and recovery after every kick
-
Understanding distance and timing
-
Creating openings for your kicks
-
Using footwork and movement to improve your kicking
-
Developing effective kicking combinations
-
Linking kicks with punches and other techniques
-
Using variations of the four major kicks
-
Setting up kicks rather than throwing them blindly
-
Understanding how to make your kicking more effective against a moving opponent
-
Developing the ability to kick without compromising your structure or balance
Why Attend?
Good kicking is more than flexibility or being able to kick high.
Effective kicking comes from combining structure, balance, timing, distance, speed and power.
When these elements come together, your kicks become more than individual techniques. They become part of your overall movement and fighting strategy.
This seminar will give you practical methods that you can take straight back into your regular training.
You will have the opportunity to work through the techniques, understand the principles behind them and then apply them through combinations and partner drills.
Who Is It For?
The seminar is suitable for martial artists and combat sports athletes of different styles and experience levels.
Whether you train in Karate, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, BJJ or another martial art, the principles can be applied to your existing skills.
You don't need to be a high-level kicker.
You need a willingness to learn, train and improve.
The Benefits
By attending, you will develop a better understanding of:
Power
Learn how the body works together to generate power rather than relying on the kicking leg alone.
Balance
Improve your ability to maintain control during the kick and recover quickly afterwards.
Structure
Understand how correct body position affects both power and stability.
Timing
Learn to recognise opportunities and deliver your kicks at the right moment.
Distance
Develop a better understanding of where you need to be to make your kicks effective.
Combinations
Learn how to connect your kicks with other techniques and create combinations that are practical and effective.
Application
Move beyond simply practising kicks and learn how to use them against a moving partner.
Build On Your Skills
Part 2 is designed to take your kicking from technique to application.
You will leave with a clearer understanding of how to develop your kicking skills and, more importantly, how to make those skills work as part of your overall martial arts training.
Train better. Kick better. Apply your skills with greater confidence.
