About this event

Even in a world that's being shipwrecked, remain brave and strong.

 –Hiledgard of Bingen

Join us virtually on February 17 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM for an introduction to the great Mystics of the Rhineland, visionaries whose teachings continue to shape Christian spirituality. We’ll explore the lives and insights of Hildegard of Bingen, a 12th-century Benedictine abbess, composer, and healer whose visions revealed the divine presence within all creation; Meister Eckhart, the 14th-century Dominican theologian and preacher who spoke of the “birth of God in the soul” and the deep unity of all beings; and the Beguines, laywomen who formed vibrant spiritual communities devoted to prayer, service, and inner freedom.

Through their writings, music, and mystical insight, we’ll discover themes of creativity, compassion, and the interconnectedness of spirit and world. As Hildegard wrote, “The Word is living, being, spirit, all verdant greening, all creativity. This Word manifests itself in every creature.”

Whether you’re new to these historic teachers or want to revisit their timeless teachings, this program offers an inspiring look into a lineage of deep, experiential wisdom that speaks powerfully to our own search for meaning.
