RIVERWALK AREA (check in virtually via Goosechase app)

The Grand Prize is guaranteed at least $500 CASH and is subject to growth!

Get Ready!

You and your team of 2 to 5 are invited to compete in a family friendly event unlike anything this area has ever seen.

A magical tale of tails ..
Legend has it a grand ship , like many others met its fate in the nearby volatile waters.  The resident merfolk could not save the victims, but relocated the ship’s riches from a hopelessly deep trench - so that one day it could be enjoyed by those brave enough to seek it

Treasure within your grasp
There are clues , and if your team is savvy and quick , the grand prize could be yours!

Unfold the Map

Everything you need is already in your hands. Your team will use smart phones to check into the event at the start time. Through our app,you will be given a large number of clues that can be followed in any order and have different point values. This means there are many different ways to win. The team to reach the designated amount of points first wins the spoils. There are also prizes and goodies up for grabs from our sponsors which we will announce right up until the event starts.

The clues will be all around the Astoria area , and while automobile transportation between clues isn't necessary to complete enough clues - it will provide a strong advantage  as this is a race

There are a few clues that *if chosen* to follow - require travel to up to 13 miles radius from Astoria's center  - these clues carry the incentive of higher point values because of the time involved

The Purpose

This event is hosted by Maritime Archaeological Society (MAS)  A 501c3 Non-Profit Organization that funds research, mapping, recovering and preservation of shipwrecks and artifacts

We are a 100% volunteer-funded organization who played an integral role in the recovery of timbers from a 17th century Spanish Galleon known as The Beeswax Wreck from local caves just off the shore

This is a fun , exciting opportunity to get the community involved in the treasures of its own local businesses , create an activity families and friends can participate in while helping fund our research and costly equipment.

We are currently fundraising for side-scan sonar technology to help us get imaging from sites we have previously mapped.  We believe there are more pieces of the galleon in one specific location, so this fundraiser is going directly toward the dive expedition and tech needed to investigate the site
