Matagorda Bays CCA Lil' Salties Fishing Blowout

WHAT:          A Great Morning of fishing and casting for the kids. Lunch for the entire family.

WHO:            Kids 3 to 14 years of age.

WHEN:          Saturday, May 9th, 2026

6:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Check in starts 6:30 a.m. @ Matagorda Harbor  / If leaving from other locations sign in Friday, May 8th, 2026 @ EC Fire Dept. Training Field from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

WHERE:        Matagorda Harbor, Matagorda TX.

BRING:          One rod and reel (or cane pole) per child

•                      Tackle 
•                      Sunscreen
•                      Mosquito spray
•                      Lawn chairs
•                      Umbrellas/cover from sun or weather 
•                      Refreshments while you are fishing (water will be available, but bring a small ice chest for your own refreshments to have nearby while fishing.  It will be hot!)

WHY:            To stress the importance of conservation and good sportsmanship to the youth.

TENTATIVE AGENDA:

6:30 Sign In Begins/Fishing Begins

8:00 Casting contest begins 

11:00 Weigh-In begins                                                                                                          

12:00 Presentation, Door Prizes & Lunch

CCA and its sponsors will:

•                      Provide dead bait
•                      Host casting contest
•                      Lunch and drinks
•                      Goodie bags for each participant filled with a t-shirt and other items
•                      Volunteers for assistance
