About this event
Join us for a powerful evening with Okorie “OkCello” Johnson, an Atlanta-based cellist, composer, and storyteller known for blending classical, jazz, and Afrocentric traditions through live looping and improvisation. Featured on the Tamron Hall Show and a Kennedy Center artist-in-residence, OkCello has performed and recorded with legends like Maxwell, India.Arie, and Big Boi. His compositions include Emmy- and Suzi Award–winning scores, a groundbreaking cello concerto with the Georgia Symphony, and a new album set to release this fall. With three studio albums and a unique sound rooted in the African Diaspora, his music explores spirituality, emotion, and innovation. Expect a concert experience that’s immersive, soulful, and deeply moving.
