Audience favorite, Julie McIntosh returns to The Red Jacket Jamboree for her third public performance.  Acclaimed for her soulful blues and jazz recordings, Julie will be our guest vocalist for two amazing shows "Ellington Visits the UP" And "Let it Shine" which celebrates the Keweenaw's copper mining history.   

The Red Jacket Jamboree is a NEW old-time radio variety show sharing stories, songs and history from Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula.  Hosted by Lena Dorey, the show is recorded in front of a live audience inside the RPM studio at the Keweenaw Storytelling Center in downtown Calumet. The show also features Martin Achatz, two-Time Poet Laureate of the U.P.,the Red Jacket Actors and music by our the Copper Cats!

The Red Jacket Jamboree is produced by Real People Media, a nonprofit helping people share their stories through the literary, visual, performing and media arts. Julie McIntosh began her professional career in New York City in the 1980’s as lead vocalist with bands "The Shakes" and "Wreckless Abandon."  Julie moved through the musical genres of  jazz, rock and pop until landing in the world of Rhythm and Blues. She performed with drummer  Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, guitarist Billy Hector, and keyboardist, Tony Z and recorded with the acclaimed blues and gospel trio- the Homes Brothers. She's opened for notable performers including: Buddy Guy, Son Seals, L’il Ed and The Blues Imperials, and  Luther “Guitar” Jr. Johnson.​
