About this event

You are cordially invited to travel back in time to the early 1900s and enjoy a Sunday Afternoon at Suomi Opisto (Suomi College).  You will begin the afternoon at the Chapel of St. Matthew where you will be delighted by a historical fashion revue presented by Friends of Fashion. The revue- "Furs, Bathing Suits and Ballgowns features turn of the century ensembles.  The narrated show includes musical accompaniment.   Following the revue, we'll walk down the hill (there is a wheelchair accessible path) and assemble in "Old Main" the first building of Suomi College/Finlandia University.  The college was formed by J.K. Nikander, a Finnish pastor who wanted to ensure seminary training in America and help preserve the Finnish identity.  Guests will partake in an Afternoon Tea featuring Finnish and American Sweets and Snacks while enjoying the elegant music of accomplished musicians.  We'll share the history of this grand old building and RPM's plans for the future.

The fundraiser will include a silent auction.  If you have goods or services that you'd like to donate to this cause, please contact Real People Media at realpeoplemedia@gmail.com
