TOSC Member - One Bag Challenge Micro Cleanup – Veterans Memorial @ Memorial Park
Thursday, May 9th, 9:30 to 10:15 AM

TOSC Members make a difference!  To celebrate Military Month, we will be out at the Veterans Memorial at Memorial Park for a One Bag Challenge micro cleanup.  We will walk around the monuments just north of Prospect Lake picking up litter for approximately 15 minutes.  We will meet at a centeralized meeting spot to layout the trash we have found for photography and cataloging.  If time allows, we will make a few "Litter Critters" that will be used for social media promotions of TOSC's One Bag Challenge.

What to Expect:
All Abilities are Welcome
Distance: Less than .5 miles
Trail: Concrete sidewalks.  Grass lawn.
The Cleanup: We will focus on the area around the monuments by the Veteran's Memorial and the Fallen Peace Officer Memorial.  If we get enough people, we will also pick up around the shore of Prospect Lake and the playground.  These cleanups are quick, 15 minutes or less, and we encourage the use of a TOSC "One Bag Challenge" resuable bag or any bag you have laying around your house (no plastic bags prefered).  What makes One Bag Challenge micro cleanups unique is that we get together afterward and lay our trash out on a large piece of fabric.  We take photos and share stories of what we found.  Our findings will be shared with the public and will be used to help change people's behaviors over the long term.  If time allows, we will make "litter critters."  We basically put googly eyes on a few pieces of trash.  "Just like other pests, we don't want to leave litter critters in our favorite places." Social media will go wild over these and we appreciate your help making it happen!

What to Bring:
Sturdy shoes for trail walking, water, sunscreen.  A bag of any size to pick up trash.  We will have One Bag Challenge Bags for anyone who doesn't already have one.

Meeting Spot: We will be meet at the Veterans Memorial (also known as the Bell Tower) on Memorial Drive off of South Union Blvd.  There is a parking lot in that vacinity.

Members can bring as many guests as you wish.
Please no pets.
Cleanup Leader: Aaron Rogers, TOSC Program Coordinator
