TOSC Social Club: Weekday Hike - Pulpit Rock

Hike to the summit of Pulpit Rock in Austin Bluffs Open Space

This is a social hike where the goal is to enjoy the company of other outdoor lovers.

What to Expect:
All Abilities are Welcome
Distance: Approximately 2 miles with 350 feet of elevation gain.
Trail: Dirt single track with rocks and tree roots.
The Hike: The group will meet in the south Pulpit Rock parking lot next to the car dealership.  We will hike up using the Pulpit Rock Trail which is a series of long switchbacks on the north face of Pulpit Rock. The summit of Pulpit Rock has stone steps and light scrambling if desired.  As a group, we will make a decision if we will go the top when we reach the area.  There is a nice flat spot before the final rocks that is accessible with fantastic views looking to the south and north. We will go back down the same way we went up.

What to Bring:
Sturdy shoes for trail walking, water, sunscreen and backpacks for those who like to have them on hikes. Treking poles  
Dress for the weather and be prepared for mud if there have been recent storms.

Meeting Spot: We will meet in the South Pulpit Rock parking lot that is next to Winslow BMW of Colorado Springs.  This parking lot has been recently upgraded and allows for 50 parking spaces. The address is 5715 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.

This area has rattlesnakes and we will proceed with caution and respect for them. 

Members can bring as many guests as you wish.
Please no pets.
