About this event
Program 5: Out of Many: Diverse Voices
Fear No Music presents the last installment of Locally Sourced Sounds: our season-long celebration of composers living and working in our region. Inspired by the motto of inclusion and acceptance our country was founded upon (E pluribus unum), we call this final program Out of Many.
Celebrating not only the diverse experiences of our composers, but the many different musical styles and genres their vocabularies represent, we feature works by Fear No Music’s own multitalented composer/cellist/vocalist Nancy Ives and composer/producer/sound designer Nicholas Emerson. Then, in partnership with Oregon Rises Above Hate to observe the 50th year anniversary of the fall of Siagon, we welcome very special guest, singer/songwriter/poet Dao Strom for an unprecedented collaboration with our musicians, presenting her moving song cycle Diaspora Songs describing her personal account of the Vietnamese immigrant experience.
Featuring composers: Nancy Ives, Nicholas Emerson, Dao Strom
