About this event
Please join us for our twentieth annual Global Citizen Awards and UN Day Celebration at International House, UC Berkeley.
UN Day co-sponsors: International House at UC Berkeley and Port of Oakland.
This event will showcase local organizations and individuals who are lifting up immigrants and refugees in our East Bay community. Come for a festive reception with light refreshments at 3:00 at the handsome International House at UC Berkeley, followed at 3:30 by celebrations honoring UNA-East Bay’s 20th annual Global Citizens.
With the theme “Beyond Borders: Uplifting and Protecting Immigrants and Refugees,” the UNA-East Bay’s UN Day event will for the twentieth year again showcase organizations and individuals that demonstrate exemplary achievements and impact directly linked to a United Nations goal. The 2025 honorees are champions of rule of law, support services, advocacy for human rights, dignity and respect for all – including immigrants and refugees in our East Bay community.
This year's program will feature a special artistic presentation by Dr. Akiko's students at the American Montessori School in Berkeley. This poetic journey begins with "The Coming of Humans," moves into the struggles of displacement, and concludes with a hopeful call to action.
Come join us and bring family and friends to demonstrate support for immigrants and refugees!
