About this event
Looking forward to seeing you at the Austin Civic Orchestra's concert tonight.
Conductor Dr. Veronica Salinas leads brass and percussion through Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and then the orchestra into Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2. The Austin Soundwaves Junior and Senior Ensembles will appear during intermission and the second half of the performance, respectively. The concert will also feature guest soloist Dr. Melissa Meléndez on viola in Le Grand Tango, and will close with 1712 Overture for Really Big Orchestra, conducted by Dr. W.P. Sterneman III.
You can look forward to generations of artists coming together to emphasize the importance of music education, and of course, entertain!
Concert begins at 7:00 pm at the McCallum Arts Center. Address is 5600 Sunshine Rd., Austin, TX. The building is located on the north side of the campus.
