Please join us at Pivotal Brewing Company on February 4, 2024 for a fun gathering of members of the Bristol community. Learn about the design of the Middle Passage Memorial and support its construction in Independence Park, Bristol, RI.
Come meet your neighbors and learn about this important community project to promote reconciliation and healing through the recognition of Bristol's role in the International Human Trade in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Each ticket-holder will receive two free drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). And a portion of the cost of every ticket will go to support the construction of the memorial.
Bristol has joined with neighboring towns such as Newport and Warren, Rhode Island, and with other ports throughout the United States, in participating in the UNESCO Routes of Enslaved Peoples program and erecting a memorial to this history.
Models of the designs submitted by our three great FINALISTS are on view at Rogers Free Library in Bristol, RI, through the month of December, 2023. You can view photos of the artists' models and statements here.
