About this event

Welcome to the FIFTH annual City of Trees Parade & Mardi Gras Festival!! Our 100% nonprofit Mardi Gras event will take place on Saturday, February 28th, 2026. The City of Trees Parade is a dazzling showcase of Sacramento’s rich diversity and culture! Last year’s event included more than 1,300 performers from 55 different groups, and this year’s event will be even bigger!! Follow us @cityoftreesparade on FB and IG to keep up with all the latest details or visit our website www.cityoftreesparade.org

Join in on the all-afternoon festival beginning at 3pm, right on Capitol Mall. Kids enter free with RSVP! There will be live performances, interactive exhibits, food trucks, local vendors, and a beverage garden to wet your whistle and help us raise funds for this non-profit event. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and you’ll be able to watch our fantastic parade as it rolls past the festival toward tower bridge, culminating in Sacramento’s only evening-time parade, featuring light-up art cars from Burning Man! From 7 to 9 PM you'll be able to see all of these light up art cars in all their glory, parked right inside the festival grounds.

Parade Riders can see the parade and then catch a ride on a fabulous art car into Old Sacramento to throw beads to the public! Our ticketed Parade Riders will board floats in the staging area and then ride down Capitol Mall in style throwing 100% recycled Mardi Gras beads that we'll provide for you. THEN the entire, light-up parade returns to the festival grounds for our signature City of Trees Parade electric dance party until 9PM. Our Aristocrat VIPs get the absolute best experience, because they can board our very best floats right inside the festival grounds!
