Sign up to hear Daniel MacIvor’s take on Practical Playwriting! Afterwards, you will have an opportunity to pitch your play idea and get a five or ten minute public dramaturgy session from the man himself!
Daniel MacIvor is a Canadian playwright, actor, film director, screenwriter from Sydney, Nova Scotia. Five-time nominee (and one time winner) of the Governor General’s Award and two-time winner of the Chalmers Award for best new Canadian play, he is one of Canada's most innovative playwrights. He has written over twenty plays, many of them one-man shows which he has performed and toured across the country. His film and TV work are most notably Twitch City (tv series), Trigger (movie, 2010) and Republic of Doyle (tv series) among many others. A selection of films that he wrote, directed and/or starred in include his first feature film Past Perfect (2002), Marion Bridge (2002) a screenplay adaptation of his play by the same name, Wilby Wonderful (2004), Whole New Thing(2005) and Trigger (2010).
