About this event

Dorje Ling warmly invites you to a day-long meditation retreat on May 2nd.

Whether you are new to meditation or have an established practice, you are welcome to join!

Throughout the day, Matthew Small, Dorje Ling’s Program Director, will guide participants in exploring both shamatha (calm abiding) and vipassana (insight) meditation. The morning will focus on settling the mind through shamatha practice, while the afternoon will open into vipassana. Sessions will gradually lengthen, with supportive instruction drawn from Natural Liberation by Gyatrul Rinpoche, The Attention Revolution by B. Alan Wallace, PhD, and other sources.

A simple vegetarian lunch will be provided. If you have specific dietary needs or allergies, you are welcome to bring your own food. The suggested donation is $25. Please offer what you can—no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

This retreat is intended as a full-day, immersive experience, and we encourage participants to attend both sessions to help maintain a steady and supportive environment for everyone. Much of the day will be held in silence, offering a shared space for quiet reflection and focus.

We will send additional details to all registered attendees. We look forward to practicing together!
