About this event

Is your posture causing back, neck, or shoulder tension? Do you want to improve and sustain better posture? The Alexander Technique is a simple and practical method for improving freedom of movement, balance, support, and coordination and it can be applied to every aspect of your life.

Erin O'Leary teaches the Alexander Technique in New York City primarily to actors in conservatory training.  She is adjunct faculty at Juilliard in the Drama Division, associate faculty at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and teaches private lessons to people from all walks of life.  She now also offers coaching online to provide strategies in holistic stress reduction with freer balance and breathing.

F.M. Alexander devised and developed the Alexander Technique in Melbourne, London, and New York up until his death in 1955.  After remedying a chronic laryngitis problem for himself, he discovered how to help others improve respiratory functioning. For over a century, the Technique has been taught in the performing arts for increased stamina and performance enhancement.  In more recent history, people suffering with back pain and repetitive stress injuries have turned to Alexander lessons and found lasting benefits.
