About this event

Still got an itching problem? Good.

Following another exciting month in our new Birmingham home, The Victoria, we're opening up The Clinic for another round of appointments.

Expect laughter, shots and chaos as Gloria Hole assembles another crack team of comedians to solve your problems. In the past we've had relationship woes, erstwhile shows and one poor man who just couldn't get his party popper off.

Joining Gloria This Month We Have:

Barbara Nice

Barbara Nice is an ordinary housewife, mother of five, keen ‘Take A Break’ reader and occasional stage-diver!

With her enviable track record of garnering 5-star reviews and sell-out shows, Barbara doesn't abuse the audience, she raises everyone's spirits.  She will put a smile on your face and a spring in your step.

Her four-part series ‘Barbara Nice’ was broadcast in March 2017 as part of BBC Radio 2’s Comedy Showcase.

This critically acclaimed tip-top comedy character is the creation of hugely talented writer, performer and comedian Janice Connolly BEM.

Many moons ago, in a new act competition in Manchester in character as Barbara Nice, Janice was discovered by legendary comedian Peter Kay who then asked her to play Holy Mary in Phoenix Nights. The whole cast reunited in 2015 performing Phoenix Nights Live for 15 nights raising over £5m for Comic Relief.

Barbara is a local legend and comedy superstar, we cant wait to welcome her to The Victoria on March 14.

George Rigden

Despite only performing his first gig in June 2013, George Rigden is already one of the most exciting, hotly-tipped and sought after new acts on the UK comedy circuit. Having excelled in a host of new act competitions in his first year, George made his Edinburgh debut in 2015 when he performed as part of the prestigious AAA Stand Up Late showcase at the Pleasance Courtyard for a full sell-out run. He returned to Edinburgh with a run of successful smaller scale shows before debuting his full length show "George-ous" in 2018, playing to critical acclaim and picking up a whole raft of fans.

George is a Clinic favourite having joined the panel numerous times over the years. His brand of offbeat, bitter yet deeply funny comedy makes him a firm favourite and we cannot wait to welcome him to The Victoria for his Birmingham Clinic debut.

Rigden is the result of a genetic mash-up between Mitch Benn and Tim Key, perhaps with a few strands of Ricky Gervais’s DNA thrown in…Very Funny Stuff.” – Steve Bennett, Chortle

Laura Monmoth

Born in Birmingham and now residing in West Bromwich, Sandwell, Laura Monmoth has been performing for nearly five years. Though initially “influenced by the storytelling of Jasper Carrott and energy of Rowan Atkinson,” she’s since taken a new direction and her debut show, LGBTQZX, has garnered high praise from several other arts festivals.

Laura is sharp, warm and dangerously funny. She makes her Clinic debut on March 14 and we expect you're going to love her.

Andrew Marsh

Having been performing for a number of years Andrew Marsh has developed an ability to find the funny in the niche. He performs regularly as part of the double act (No) Money in The Bank with them having performed their self titled debut show in Edinburgh 2018 to acclaim. The wrestling themed show found it's audience and is now touring across the UK. Andrew also performs alone and delights audiences with his friendly and often quirky style.

Andrew has guested on The Clinic numerous times and never fails to amuse.

So come down and join us March 14, Doors at 19:30, show at 20:00 and post show beers at 22:30. I can promise you that with this lineup it's going to be a very special evening.

If you've got a problem, Gloria has a shot for it.
