City of Trees Parade and Mardi Gras Festival

We are excited to announce the THIRD annual City of Trees Parade & Mardi Gras Festival!! Our Mardi Gras inspired event will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024. The City of Trees Parade is a dazzling showcase of Sacramento’s rich diversity and culture! Last year’s event included ONE THOUSAND performers from 34 different groups, and this year’s event will be even bigger!! Follow us @cityoftreesparade on FB and IG to keep up with all the latest details and be the first to know which artists and performers will be featured.

Join in on the all-afternoon festival beginning at 2pm, right on Capitol Mall. There will be live performances, interactive exhibits, food trucks, local vendors, and a beverage garden to wet your whistle and help us raise funds for this non-profit event. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and you’ll be able to watch our fantastic parade as it rolls past the festival toward tower bridge, culminating in Sacramento’s only evening-time parade, featuring light-up art cars from Burning Man! From 7 to 9 PM you'll be able to see all of these light up art cars in all their glory, parked right inside the festival grounds.

AND for the first time ever, the City of Trees PET Parade!? This paws-itively unique event will feature hundreds of local pets dressed in their Mardi Gras best. We’re welcoming YOU to join in the action, bring your beloved pet in costume, and even enter into a costume contest where fabulous prizes await you!
