About this event
Living Fully, Dying Prepared: A Community
Discussion Circle of Self-Exploration
Tuesdays – April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 & May 7
Elk Haven Wellness Center, Brevard
Why think about mortality? Because it often feels too early until it's too late. Living and dying are intimately related, and giving energy to thinking about our eventual deaths can deeply enhance how we walk through our days while we're here. In this program, we'll circle up with fellow seekers who are interested in discussing the ways our living informs our dying, and the ways our outlook on dying might inform our living.
Inspired by Francesca Arnoldy's workbook, The Death Doula's Guide to Living Fully and Dying Prepared, we'll touch on the logistical housekeeping of end-of-life, but we'll focus most on the heart work. We'll immerse ourselves in meaningful and supportive discussions and writing practices centered on mortality and values-related topics. Participants will engage in activities and interactions that foster clarity and connection.
Adults of any age and health status are welcome to join the circle. Lauren Agrella-Sevilla, M.ED LCSWA lives in Brevard where she gardens, bikes, plays, and explores with her sweetheart and their two children. She is trained as an end of life doula and has devoted her professional life to building peace and connection in large and small ways.
The cost of this six-week program is $200 and can be paid online when you register, or by mailing a check to Center for Spiritual Wisdom, 100 Elks Club Road, Brevard, N.C. 28712.
