Exploring Our Flow: The 2026 Urban Water Cycle Tour
Join the Trails and Open Space Coalition (TOSC), the City of Colorado Springs Stormwater Enterprise, and Colorado Springs Utilities for an engaging, hands-on and FREE two-hour rolling workshop along one of our region’s most vital corridors. The ride will be 9.5 miles in length, the pace will be social, and there will be several stops at points of interest along the way. This ride is appropriate for ages 16 and up.
Please arrive no later than 1:45pm in order to get set for the ride, scheduled to depart at 2:00pm!
Our journey begins at TOSC’s new Southern Front Range (SFR) Regional Headquarters—a facility in a state of becoming the ultimate starting pad for community outdoor connection and adventures. From our doorstep and just down the street, we will roll onto the Midland Trail, the premier east-to-west multimodal connector linking the heart of Downtown Colorado Springs to Manitou Springs.

As we pedal along Fountain Creek, tracing its dynamic journey from the high slopes of Pikes Peak down to its confluence with Monument Creek, expert hosts will unpack the critical role this watershed plays in ecosystem health, public utility infrastructure, and regional flood management. Along the way, you’ll experience firsthand how the Midland Trail provides vital, safe active-transportation connectivity across the city.
Water management and urban connectivity, however, are rarely smooth sailing. Along this feature-rich corridor, we will highlight the real-world challenges facing our urban waterways and trail networks—from erosion control and stormwater runoff to regional connectivity gaps—and discuss the collaborative solutions actively shaping our public spaces.
Pack your bike, bring your curiosity, and join us for an insightful two-hour ride through the pulse of our urban watershed! Helmets are required for this ride and please ensure your bike is ready for this pleasant journey along the Midland Trail corridor.
We appreciate our local bike share gurus at PikeRide for making cycles and helmets available to 12 participants at a reduced rate ($12). You can access cycle rental at this link HERE
The ride will take place from 2:00pm to ~4:00pm, then we invite you to join us for the Hydration Celebration at Fossil Craft Beer Company, where we'll provide light snacks along with your first pint (locally crafted beer or a non-alcoholic option!).
