In celebrating our 10th season of concerts in Durham, this program opens with a blend of musical eras spanning centuries (along with a few surprises)! Experience a wide range of historical approaches to composition mixed with compelling coloristic writing. Golijov’s meditative and reflective Tenebrae opens the performance with a profound sense of perspective, followed by Wuorinen’s unique reimagining of Renaissance composer Josquin des Prez’s inventive music. Featuring each of our incredible musicians, the program culminates in César Franck’s deeply passionate Piano Quintet in a dramatic and captivating performance you won’t want to miss.
