About this event

Sound Bursts in Color returns with a bold new program that invites you into a world of vibrant, boundary-pushing music. This is not your typical orchestral concert—it’s an interactive experience that places you at the heart of today’s most adventurous new sounds.

This performance takes place in a stunning historic chapel at Epiphany Seattle (1805 38th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98122), where the resonance of the space adds another layer of depth to the music.

We’re proud to present the world premieres of three new works by the winners of our Young Artist Composition Competition: Sean MacCarthy-Grant, Adi Shapiro, and Calvin Rice.

Also featured is the premiere of a brand new piece by acclaimed Seattle-based composer Sarah Bassingthwaighte, whose imaginative style and expressive range are a perfect match for this program.

Additional works by Rachael Fasano, Nicky Sohn, Chloe Liuyan Liu, Anthony Cheung, and Eydís Evensen round out an evening of musical storytelling, connection, and surprise.

Audience interaction is woven throughout the program, which offers a chance to engage with the music in ways that are playful, meaningful, and completely unique to this experience.
