About this event

Join IIDA Austin City Center for a behind-the-scenes tour of the transformed Camp Hubbard Campus, designed by Marmon Mok for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.

On a site TxDOT has owned since 1963, a five-phase plan kept the campus running throughout construction while demolishing four outdated buildings, renovating another, and adding a new 144,000 SF office building. The new building brings 12 of 14 TxDMV divisions under one roof, with open, flexible workspace built for collaboration and hybrid work. Its first floor opens up to staff and the public with dining, wellness and fitness spaces, a board hearing room, and a public lobby.

Next door, a renovated five-story, 110,000 SF building houses the remaining two divisions. It also served as swing space during construction, and a covered walkway now links the two entrances.

The project team will walk us through the phasing strategy, workplace planning, and how the campus was designed to adapt as work evolves.
