About this event

Dorje Ling will offer its annual meditation retreat this October. Both beginner and experienced meditators are welcome!

Explore meditation techniques with Matthew Small, Dorje Ling's program director.

The first day will focus on shamatha meditation or calm abiding and the second will highlight vipassana meditation. The day will be divided into increasingly longer sessions with instructions from Matthew using the texts: Natural Liberation by Gyatrul Rinpoche, The Attention Revolution by B. Alan Wallace, PhD, as well as other sources.

We will provide simple vegetarian lunches. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please bring your own food.

The recommended donation is $20 for each day. Please offer what you can: no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

The retreat is designed as a two-day event, but you are welcome to register for just one day. We just ask that everyone arrives on time and stays for the whole day to minimize interruptions. Meditations will primarily be silent so please respect other people's need for focus and reflection.
