About this event

The Midday Music series presents a variety of musical artists, both singers and instrumentalists, in half hour concerts during the fall and spring. Suggested contribution is $10 per concert. Our Midday Concert series "One West / One East” is a collaboration with Marble Collegiate Church.

Tickets on this site are for the concerts held at the Church of the Transfiguration only. If buying tickets in advance, please make sure that you choose the date you are planning to attend in the dropdown in the top left. It will default to the upcoming concert.

This program traces the transformation of folk singing in America—
from the old ballads brought across the Atlantic, through the birth of distinctly American sacred and shape-note traditions, and into the folk music that survived and evolved as America modernized.
