Arthur Miller's The Crucible is a devastatingly honest drama inspired by one of the strangest and most awful chapters in human history: the Salem witch trials of 1692. As fear, suspicion, and hysteria spread through a small community in eastern Massachusetts, neighbors turn against one another and lives are forever altered. A timeless exploration of truth, integrity, and the dangers of mass panic, The Crucible remains one of the most powerful and relevant plays in American theatre.
