Mission: Leaders of the Next Generation is committed to environmental awareness and providing access to education for youth. Through community programs, advocacy, and youth involvement, LNG aims to empower the leaders of tomorrow to ensure a sustainable future. One of the most threatening factors to climate change is pollution – damaging our environment and its species. Teaching kids the dangers of climate change is vital to a hopeful future. This event will focus on the toll plastic has taken on birds. One way plastic impacts these species is that it can strangle them. In addition to this, another factor that impacts climate change as well as birds is oil spills. These cause death and famine among our bird and aquatic species. By aligning our goal with that of the Greenwich Audubon, our primary mission is to educate and inform younger generations of the challenges our environment and ecosystems are facing. LNG is holding their “Green Guardians” event at the Greenwich Audubon’s facility.
The Idea for the Day:
Attention, Junior Detectives! Something strange is happening in nature, and our animal friends need your help. Birds are in trouble—they can’t fly like they used to, their homes are messy, and some of their food is missing. Your mission is to investigate the clues, solve the mysteries, and discover how to help save our feathered friends and their habitats.
Get ready to explore different Detective Stations, collect evidence, and complete challenges to unlock solutions. Together, we can protect nature and make the Earth a better place!
We will have stations with different fun activities and games and kids will be able to take some new ideas and projects home!

LNG is a youth-led non-profit organization focused on access to education and environmental awareness. Led by Sameera Madan and Jacklyn Pizzella, they have established two main programs: free tutoring and Green Guardians. Sameera and Jacklyn are currently seniors at Greenwich High School.
