About this event

Middle Tennessee Children’s Theatre (MTCT), a non-profit organization in Rutherford
County, is Tennessee’s only Penguin Project Chapter. The Penguin Project is a national
program that provides a supportive environment for children with special needs and
disabilities to explore their creative talents. Due to the hardship of healthcare and
therapy costs, MTCT’s mission is to provide a quality and all-ability theatre program at no
cost to their performers. To do this, MTCT must fundraise in order to cover all costs
associated with performances (i.e., costumes, performance space, administration, etc.).
MTCT has no employees, and all directors work on a volunteer-only basis. MTCT’s
Penguin Project Chapter will be performing Alice in Wonderland Jr. in 2025.

MTCT will host its first annual Holiday Masquerade at the Discovery Center in
Murfreesboro, TN, on Sunday, December 8, at 6 pm. Tickets for admission are $20 for
adults and $10 for children and cover full access to all exhibits at the Discovery Center,
heavy hors d'oeuvres, and participation in a silent auction. To promote creativity, awards
will be given for the most creative and most original masks. All funds raised will go
toward MTCT’s 2025 performance year costs and toward assisting MTCT’s own Abigail
Wilder, in making a trip to New York, NY, and Sydney, Australia.
