About this event
Join us as we learn about light pollution, a growing but preventable threat to lakes, wildlife, and community well-being. This is a hybrid event. The speakers will be virtual on a large screen at the Pewaukee Public Library. Come in-person to socialize with fellow community members. A zoom option is available. There is no fee but registration is required for both in-person and zoom.
Shoreline lighting disrupts nocturnal animals, migratory birds, and aquatic ecosystems, while also erasing the dark skies that define healthy, beautiful lakes and peaceful communities. This meeting will focus on practical actions residents, businesses, municipalities and lake groups can take to reduce light pollution. Suggested donation is $20.
The zoom information will be emailed to participants closer to the event.
Our speakers are Scott Lind, a consulting electrical engineer with more than 35 years of experience designing sustainable electrical systems, with a special focus on outdoor lighting that reduces light pollution and protects wildlife and Paul Skawinski, Citizen Lake Monitoring Network Educator. A Q&A session will follow their presentations.
