About this event
Women on the Same Page is a comedy play set in Queens, New York. A diverse group of women—different in age, class, immigration status, religion, and beliefs—gathers in a circle of therapy and mutual support. The only thing they share is having survived different forms of gender-based violence.
During a session marked by the introduction of a new intake form, underlying tensions begin to surface. Seemingly bureaucratic questions open deep wounds, trigger unexpected confessions, and expose each woman’s internal contradictions. As the group struggles to process the recent death of one of its members, the safe space that once held them together begins to fracture.
Constanza Liberona (1991) is a Chilean filmmaker based in New York since 2022. Her work blends social realism with a pop and urban aesthetic to explore themes of feminism, justice, youth, migration, and collective memory. She began her career in photography during the student protests in Chile and debuted as a director with the short film Spring Rebels, which premiered in the US and Colombia. Her coming-of-age TV script Sad Bangers was selected by the Chilean Audiovisual Narratives Fellowship two years in a row.
Currently, she is developing a feature film set in New York- The Dream Of The Bull- about migration and ambition, and finishing Women On The Same Page, a play about feminism recently awarded the NYFA Queens Arts Fund. Her storytelling, through the female gaze, focuses on how the personal intersects with political structures.
