Hearts on Fire

Created and directed by Eryc Taylor and made in collaboration with ETD dancers, Hearts on Fire is a 35-minute contemporary dance-theatre work set to the emotionally charged music of Beth Hart. The work explores the many forms love can take—from passion and desire to vulnerability, obsession, betrayal, forgiveness, resilience, and healing.

Rather than telling the story of a single couple, Hearts on Fire follows an ensemble of interconnected characters whose relationships continually shift and evolve. A duet becomes a trio; a partner disappears and returns; a source of comfort becomes a source of pain.

Through emotionally driven choreography, powerful physicality, spoken text, cinematic staging, and theatrical lighting, the performance blurs the boundary between dance and theatre. Designed for an intimate environment, Hearts on Fire places audiences close to the action, transforming the performance space into an emotional landscape where the intensity of human connection can be felt from only a few feet away. The result is a visceral, intimate, and deeply human exploration of what it means to love, lose, remember, and find the courage to begin again.
