Bethesda, Inc. offers four week-long day camps each summer for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, helping them heal while enjoying the summer experience all children deserve. Each camp serves up to 20 campers. Camps, which are split by age and gender, integrate traditional summer activities with therapeutic healing, so every activity connects back to some component of processing, skill building, boosting confidence, and learning about communication and relationships. Our therapists estimate that campers make the same amount of treatment plan progress in a single week of camp that they traditionally take 4-8 weeks to accomplish in weekly therapy sessions.
As with all of Bethesda's programs, summer camp services are completely free to the children and families we serve. As such, we rely heavily on community support to keep camps accessible to all! Your tax-deductible contribution is truly helping a child on their healing journey from childhood sexual abuse.
