Help us welcome summer with the 2026 Onion River Ramble :)
Join us for a 6-mile paddle down a mellow stretch of the Winooski River from Bolton to Richmond. There will be safety boaters on the water to assist as needed. Note that the start time of 10:30 am is the time that ramblers will begin their paddle! Please arrive between 9 and 9:30 to drop off your boat, sign your waiver, and drive to the take-out for a (free) shuttle back to the put-in. Please register in advance to reserve your seat on the shuttle as space is limited!
The put-in is the Long Trail River Access lot at 1782-2410 Duxbury Rd. in Bolton. Parking is very limited, so please plan on only temporarily parking to unload your boat and check in with Friends of the Winooski.
The take-out will be Volunteers Green located at 286 Bridge Street in Richmond where ramblers can gather and eat. Upon registration, there is an option to select Onion River Ramble 2026 +Lunch for an additional $5, which will be an assortment of deli sandwiches plus snacks and drinks from Richmond Market.
Proceeds benefit the Friends' work to protect and restore the Winooski River watershed. We look forward to a safe and fun day on the water!
