On November 15th, ÁNIMO Theatre Company & CSU Channel Islands proudly present "Mariachi Girl" at Santa Paula High School in Santa Paula, CA.
"Mariachi Girl" is a bilingual musical about a young girl's dream of following in her father's footsteps to become a Mariachi. Told through the eyes of a young girl, the musical explores cultural stereotypes and assimilation in the United States. It is a heartwarming story that celebrates cultural identity and promotes a positive self-image for young women.
The music in "Mariachi Girl" is performed by Mariachi Águilas de J. Carlos Ozuna one of the premiere mariachi groups in California with special performances by Mariachi Rosas de Oxnard and Inlakech Cultural Arts Center.
