About this event

Volunteering with Friends of the National Arboretum is a rewarding experience. Come to our Volunteer Open House in the Washington Youth Garden at the US National Arboretum on April 5th, 2025, from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm to learn all about it! You'll also be able to receive a tour of the Washington Youth Garden and enjoy a lovely spring morning outside.

All interested volunteers will also need to complete our volunteer interest form.

Overview of volunteering in the Washington Youth Garden:

You don't need to have experience, but you must be willing to make friends with the soil and the bugs! Our volunteers strive to work in the garden 3 hours/week on various organic gardening tasks, such as weeding, planting, pruning, mulching, and pest control.

Overview of volunteering with FONA's Community Events

Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our 5Ks, festivals, Garden Fair, and concert series. There are a variety of roles that change by event, including helping with events at our Washington Youth Garden.

This event will run if there are sprinkles, but will cancel for thunderstorms.
