Fables & Fanfares | Family Concert (Abridged) | Seattle Festival Orchestra

Seattle Festival Orchestra strives to provide early access to classical music in an environment that is welcoming to families. Unlike other kid-oriented concerts, SFO concerts feature "real" symphonic works played by a full 75+ person orchestra - but shortened to accomodate kid-sized attention spans.

The orchestra's season finale, Fables & Fanfares, bursts with color, drama, and unforgettable melodies. Strauss’s Also Sprach Zarathustra ignites the evening with its iconic "sunrise" fanfare, Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe offers a haunting moment of beauty, and Dukas's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, our Audience Choice piece, is a cinematic favorite that promises to delight. Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade crowns the program, a sweeping high-seas epic of shipwrecks, treasure, and dazzling escapes, told through music as rich and captivating as the stories themselves. You'll experience adventure, drama, and pure magic!

Note: Our abridged Family Concerts are reduced in length to approximately 45 minutes of music (with an intermission). Please expect some audience chatter! For tickets to our regular concert at Town Hall, please visit https://ticketstripe.com/fables-and-fanfares-sun
