WHY F%#K CORPORATE WEED DAY?

The War on Drugs began on June 18, 1971, the day after U.S. Pres. Richard Nixon's press conference declared drug abuse to be “public enemy number one”. Therefore, it's only appropriate to support ONLY local cannabis people & businesses on this day and throughout the year.

  • Corporate weed prioritizes profits over people: Large corporations in the weed industry are solely focused on making money, and they often do so by prioritizing profits over the health and safety of consumers. These companies are not accountable to the communities they serve and may cut corners to increase their bottom line, resulting in lower-quality products and questionable business practices.
  • Corporate weed undermines small businesses: As larger corporations enter the weed market, they often outcompete smaller, locally-owned businesses. This can lead to the displacement of small business owners and their employees, as well as a lack of diversity in the marketplace. Supporting corporate weed can therefore lead to a concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a few, rather than supporting a more equitable distribution of wealth and opportunity.
  • Corporate weed perpetuates the war on drugs: The weed industry has historically been rooted in the war on drugs, which has disproportionately impacted communities of color. By supporting corporate weed, you may be inadvertently supporting a system that perpetuates these inequalities. Many large corporations have also been criticized for their lack of diversity and inclusion, as well as their role in contributing to mass incarceration.
