About this event
Heartwood is a trio of singers and composers (Sarina Partridge, Heidi Wilson, Willy Clemetson) creating new, meaningful music in wild places, including Rabbit Island off the Keweenaw Peninsula — music that connects people with the natural world. With simple lyrics and rich vocal harmonies, these singers and instrumentalists weave music that collaborates with the natural world around them, inspired by the wild without and within.
When endless facts detailing the crises of our era can leave us overwhelmed and unmoved, perhaps it is through the ancient art of harmony song, a language of cellular resonance, that we will find ourselves beautifully beholden to the whole -- and motivated by our undeniable connection to fiercely protect it.
This concert is a CD release show -- come hear songs off of newly released album "Songs to Re-Root & Remember," featuring many songs inspired by the Keweenaw!
