Introduction to Therapeutic Touch with Judith Nourse, RN

REGISTER NOW for the Center's Introduction to Therapeutic Touch with Judith Nourse, RN. The training will take place August 1st in Brevard, N.C. from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a light lunch provided. It will be held at the Mary C. Jenkins Community Center, 2221 Mills Avenue.

Therapeutic Touch was developed in the early 1970's by professor of nursing Dolores Krieger, Ph.D., RN, and natural healer, Dora Kunz. It grew out of Dr. Krieger's post-doctoral research study of people known to be natural healers, and her desire to teach a method of healing to her graduate nursing students at New York University. The rapid and remarkable effects, including anxiety and stress reduction, enhanced healing of surgical wounds, reduction of muscle tension and pain, inflammation and more have been documented in numerous published studies over 90 years.

Anyone can learn to do this!  At the end of the training, you will be able to do a Therapeutic Touch session for a sick or injured child or animal, someone in pain, post-fall, post-surgery, post-anesthesia, insomnia, symptoms of stress or anxiety, PTSD, and many other conditions. 

Judith Nourse has completed all levels of Therapeutic Touch training, including invitationals with Dr. Krieger while she was a nursing student. Judith has taught Therapeutic Touch in numerous nursing schools in the Southeast and Staten Island, in adult education programs in community colleges including Blue Ridge Community College, support groups, hospice programs, and in physicians’ offices in Hendersonville and Brevard. She is a member of the Thearpeutic Touch International Association.

Two registration fees are available: Admission Plus at $79 (which includes a donation to help cover the cost of this and other programs) and Basic Admission at $59, which pays the minimum for the cost of the program. Limited scholarships may be available, based on the number of people who purchase Admission Plus registration. Please contact CSW Director Rob Field about this or any other aspect of the training.
