Thanks for taking time to come to this page. My name is Amber Thompson and my husband’s name is Nick Swartz. We are Lucas' mom and dad. We wanted to take some time to tell you our story so you knew what you’d be donating to and why it matters so much to us.

In August of 2022, Nick and I were happily surprised to find out we had a baby on the way! From that moment on we fell in love with our baby, and decided to keep gender a surprise. I took that babe in my belly along with us to Paris, to watch the Phils make their World Series run, and even down to Broad street to celebrate the Eagles! I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy for a full 40 weeks. After a night of not feeling many kicks, we headed to the hospital to check on our baby. It was then we got the devastating news and heard the words that changed our life; "I'm sorry, we can't find a heartbeat." Lucas' death was ruled a fetomaternal hemmorhage with no cause as to why it happened.

After a bittersweet labor and delivery, on April 26th, 2023 at 2:13am Lucas James Swartz was born into heaven. At 7lbs 14oz and 21 inches, he was an absolutely perfect angel. Since that heart breaking day, we have received support and resources from some really amazing stillborn and infant loss organizations. We wanted to take the opportunity to raise money and give back to them the same way they so selflessly gave to us. These organizations provide support for stillbirth and infant loss families. This includes mental health resources for loss parents as well as bereavement education for medical providers and much more. In the last year, we have also began sending personalized resources packages out ourselves. These packets include pamphlets from many organizations we have worked with, a book to bring comfort to those grieving, and a memorial item customized to the baby who was lost. We want to honor our son Lucas, and destigmatize the conversations around stillbirth.

On April 26th, 2025 we are hosting a fundraising event at our gym, Spartan Gym. This day comes with even more emotions than usual as this would be Lucas' second birthday. We honestly could not imagine better people to spend the day with.

This event is a day of hope, remembrance and community. If you are a loss parent, we highly encourage you to join in on this day. While the sadness of our babies being gone exists, we focus on coming together to honor them and forge a community of people who truly get it. This event has created so many relationships for loss parents to have someone to send all those "crazy" texts to. The ones you just don't think anyone else will get. We do. There are people here, in this club, with you. It is the WORST club, and it is filled with the BEST people. We are SO sorry you're in it, but we promise you are so far from alone. There will be organizations and resources for you to find the best way to get through these times, and there will be all different families there with all different stories.

We will be coaching a workout followed by a family friendly day of food, drinks, games, and raffles! Don't want to workout? No problem! You can come and only enjoy the music, food, and raffles. Our workout is all for fun! You can take it as easy or go as hard as you'd like! We aim to make it all accesible for all levels and a take it at your own pace feel!

You will see three ticket options available. Please select the appropriate start time for your workout, or select general admission if you wish to not workout. Following the workout, we will have food, adult beverages, mock tails, and soft drinks available for cash purchase. 100% of the proceeds will be going to the organizations we have listed at the bottom of this page. We will also have great raffle baskets from some really amazing businesses we will be sure to list as they are collected.

We look forward to celebrating the strength of bereaved parents and honor all of the babies we have lost too soon.

Sincerely,
Amber & Nick Swartz
Luke's Mom & Dad
