About this event
PLEASE NOTE: This event has been rescheduled for June 1, 2026.
Trying Together and Westmoreland County Community College are hosting an advocacy event! Students, administrators, and community members are invited to the premiere screening of "Make a Circle," a heartfelt documentary honoring early educators. The film follows child care providers as they work to change societal views of early childhood education. It highlights educators' classroom magic, their personal challenges, and their strong advocacy, including thousands of child care educators marching to the state capitol to demand better conditions. This compelling portrait of early childhood educators offers a hopeful blueprint for strengthening and improving our child care system.
Following the 60-minute screening, attendees will participate in a brief Q&A with local early care and education experts. The event will conclude with time for students, educators, and community members to connect across sectors, reflect on the film, and discuss their shared commitment to elevating the field of early care and education across our region.
Dinner is included at this event. Please note any dietary restrictions when registering.
Children are welcome to attend this event, but child care will not be provided. Children must be supervised by their caregiver at all times. A separate ticket does not need to be purchased for children, but please indicate how many children will be joining you when filling out your registration information.
